Megan Winsen (Queensland University of Technology, 2023 - present). Sensor fusion for improved biodiversity monitoring. Co-supervised by A/Prof Grant Hamilton.

Daniel Terrington (University of Queensland, 2023 - present). The channel-country of Western Queensland: marginal habitat or critical refuge for the elusive and critically endangered plains-wanderer? Co-supervised by Prof James Watson, Dr Nick Leseberg and Dr Jane McDonald.

Stephen Molan, PhD (Queensland University of Technology, 2022 - present). Sensing the Landscape – acoustic monitoring as a tool to assess ecological condition & conservation impact (QUT and Bush Heritage Australia). Co-supervised by A/Prof Susan Fuller and Prof Paul Roe.

Katie Turlington, PhD (Griffith University, 2020 - present). Linking sound and environmental drivers in freshwater streams using machine learning. Co-supervised by Professor Fran Sheldon, Dr Andrés Felipe Suárez Castro and Dr Simon Linke.

Justine Rice (University of Queensland, 2023). Co-supervised by Dr April Reside and Prof Martine Maron.

Former students

Alex Western, Masters (University of Queensland, 2020 - 2021). Modelling the feeding habitat of the Glossy Black-Cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami) in response to fire and climate change in South East Queensland. Co-supervised by Dr Berndt van Rensburg.

Katie Turlington, Masters (Griffith University, 2019 - 2020). Optimising study-design for acoustic monitoring with automatic call recognisers. Co-supervised by Dr Simon Linke.

Fiona Hoegh-Guldberg, Honours (University of Queensland, 2019). The effects of non-linear sound in the begging-calls of adult female Kangaroo Island glossy black-cockatoos (Calyptorhynchus lathami halmaturinus) on fledging success. Co-supervised by Dr Berndt van Rensburg.

Ashleigh Gonzalez, Honours (University of Queensland, 2019). Acoustic indices and machine learning to advance call recognition techniques for the critically endangered plains-wanderer, Pedionomus torquatus. Co-supervised by Dr Berndt van Rensburg and Professor Paul Roe.

Nick Delzoppo, Honours (University of Queensland, 2018). The effects of time-since-fire on drooping sheoak (Allocasuarina verticillata) and implications for the glossy black-cockatoo (Calyptorhynchus lathami halmaturinus) on Kangaroo Island. Co-supervised by Dr Berndt van Rensburg.
